G.A.P Adventures Head Office is bullfrogpowered™
Adventure travel company increases its commitment to green power
Toronto, September 18, 2007 — Bullfrog Power™, a leading Canadian provider of
100 per cent green electricity, today announced that G.A.P Adventures has bullfrogpowered its head office in Toronto, extending its commitment to green power, which already included its Toronto and Calgary concept stores.
G.A.P Adventures is a world leader in adventure travel, offering small group adventure tours, safaris and expeditions on all 7 continents. As a responsible tour operator, G.A.P works with local communities, businesses and individuals to develop sustainable tourism opportunities that help local economies while minimizing negative environmental and cultural impacts. The company also supports community projects, international charities and non-profits through Planeterra — The G.A.P Adventures Foundation. During the past seven years, G.A.P Adventures has been awarded numerous times for its employees' participation in Pollution Probe’s Clean Air Commute. The company also offers staff a subsidy towards their public transportation costs to encourage them to reduce air pollution in Toronto.
"G.A.P Adventures chose Bullfrog Power because of its natural synchronicity with our corporate philosophy,” said founder and CEO Bruce Poon Tip. "Having recently spent some time in the Arctic, I saw first-hand the effect global warming is having in one of the most affected areas of the world. It was a reminder of the importance of our commitment to reduce our ecological footprint and to always strive to do more. We are pleased to extend our support of Bullfrog Power, already in use in our Toronto and Calgary concept stores, to our head office."
"We are very pleased that G.A.P Adventures has expanded its support for green power with Bullfrog,” said Bullfrog Power President Tom Heintzman. "G.A.P is already a recognized leader for socially and environmentally responsible business practices within the travel industry. By signing on its global head office, G.A.P is making a significant commitment to the supply and development of clean, renewable electricity."
