Bullfrog Power™ launches new green
power service to condos and apartments
Bullfrog Power now available to all Albertans
Calgary, April 25, 2008 — Bullfrog Power, a leading Canadian provider of 100 per cent green electricity, today announced the expansion of its service to all Alberta residents. Since 2007, Bullfrog has provided homes, businesses and organizations in Alberta with an easy way to go green and help create a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations. In Alberta, all of Bullfrog’s clean, renewable power is locally sourced from EcoLogoM-certified wind power generators.
With the launch of Bullfrog’s newest green offering, any residence can green its power — even condominiums and apartments that are not separately metered. Now customers who don’t receive an electricity bill can still make the choice to support 100 per cent green power. The launch of this new offering also allows customers residing in utility areas previously not serviced by Bullfrog Power to sign up. These areas include the City of Medicine Hat and REAs.
Under the new program, customers will receive a separate bill priced at 2 cents per kWh from Bullfrog for the greening of their electricity. Bullfrog then ensures that EcoLogoM-certified green power is injected onto the Alberta electricity grid to match the amount of power the customer’s home uses. And because customers continue drawing power from the grid in the same way, there is no change in service reliability. To ensure that as much green power has been injected onto the provincial grid as customers use, Bullfrog is voluntarily audited by Deloitte on an annual basis.
