Overview
The Strategic Account Manager is a seasoned sales professional with extensive experience in a business to business environment. Candidates should bring a track record of successfully selling large complex deals into Fortune 500 accounts, and should be experienced in all aspects of managing a long sales cycle including: researching key prospect accounts to understand account fundamentals, developing and documenting an account plan, preparing and delivering compelling presentations, writing in-depth proposals, using a sales force automation tool to track all account touch points in detail, and preparing estimates and contracts. The successful candidate will be both a “hunter” and “farmer” equally comfortable working with new prospects and optimizing relationships with current accounts. Candidates should ideally also have familiarity with marketing strategies and marketing communications tactics and be able to identify and define co-marketing opportunities with major customers. A proven sales track record with major Canadian corporations, excellent oral and written communications skills, a desire to contribute in a meaningful way to bettering our environment, a university degree, working knowledge of using a salesforce automation tool, and an uncompromising work ethic are critical. Knowledge of the energy sector, direct experience in a marketing role, and an extensive network of senior level contacts in major corporations are highly desirable. This position reports to the Vice President, Strategic Accounts.
